About Dr. Kirchens

Personable and attentive podiatric physician Jennifer Kirchens, is a native of Chicago. She was born and raised on the Southwest Side of the city. Dr. Kirchens is renowned for her gentle and caring nature and her affinity for helping others enhance health, wellness, and quality of life. Since 2004, she has provided first-class personalized podiatric care at Midwest Foot and Ankle Clinics with three offices in Hoffman Estates, Arlington Heights, and in the Norwood Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Kirchens graduated cum laude in 1997 with her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. She graduated cum laude with her medical degree in 2001 from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, in North Chicago, Illinois. She completed a three year surgical residency at the Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Her first year of residency was spent caring for our veterans at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. Her third year of surgical training focused on limb salvage and reconstruction with the extensive use of external fixation. 

Dr. Kirchens has special interests in diabetic foot care, limb salvage, wound care, sports-related injuries, and general podiatric care. Dr. Kirchens treats a myriad of foot and ankle conditions, including Achilles tendonitis, arthritis, corns and calluses, diabetic feet, flat feet, foot fracture, neuroma, neuropathy, and bunions. She provides medications, surgery when needed, healthy lifestyle changes, regenerative medicine including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and stem cell therapy, shockwave therapy, and more. 

Dr. Kirchens is married to her college sweetheart. They have a son and boy/girl twins. She is an avid animal lover and has one dog, Riley. Dr. Kirchens enjoys biking and has taken part in several charity bike rides for the Illinois Multiple Sclerosis Society.
